With many gorgeous beaches, Goa is a relaxed place which combines Portuguese lifestyle with modern music and cultures. Known as a popular place for the party scene now, as well as a good all round destination, people in Goa often take Siestas in the afternoon, to prepare for the nightlife. Also known as Amdavad or Karnavati, Ahmedabad is situated along the beautiful river Sabarmati. Visitors throng to this city to enjoy the festival and be part of the celebrations. The city is named after a Sultan Ahmad Shah, who founded it in 1411 AD and adorned with splendid monuments. In 1572, Emperor Akbar took Ahmedabad and assimilated into the great Mughal empire. Ahmedabad became an important business center during the Mughal period to the death of Aurangzeb in 1707, after which the city of Ahmedabad again began to decline. It was then that the British rulers captured Ahmedabad and establish a number of textile mills here. Ahmedabad was then becoming known as the Manchester of India for its textile industry.

There is much to see and do while in Ahmedabad. ancient mosques, temples and fortresses are the main attraction for tourists. Visitors like to visit Jumma Masjid, derasa Hutheesingh and famous Sabarmati Ashram. The latter is now a national pilgrimage site was the hub for the liberation movement in India.
